“I just want to hold it.” These were Gracie’s words when she opened a box and pulled out her new guitar. Rather than putting it back in the box for the ride home, Gracie couldn’t help but want to carry it in her own hands.
Gracie is a guitar student in a new guitar program that G.O.D. Int’l has instituted in four Metro Nashville public schools. The course allows students to take free virtual guitar lessons two days per week. Instruments of Joy is proud to have been able to provide six guitars to this program. If the guitar students show a genuine interest in learning guitar by the end of the course, they get to keep their guitar. Gracie is just one of the students who has felt the impact of this course and the gift of an instrument. We look forward to hearing many more stories from G.O.D. Int’l. and their amazing new resource for budding musicians.
Next month, we hope to share more about our international instrument deliveries! In the meantime, please be in prayer for our outreach teams as they bring these Instruments of Joy to the middle east.
Artistry Fighting Poverty
Last month, Christian music artist Lauren Daigle beautifully displayed the theme of artistry fighting poverty. Daigle offered her musical talent in a virtual benefit concert supporting the victims of Hurricane Laura. The concert featured well-known songs, “You Say” and “Rescue.” The funds from the concert went to The Salvation Army and American Red Cross. These organizations worked to provide support, food, and shelter for those who were affected by the hurricane.
Music plays such an important role in our lives. It allows us to connect with and rally around those who need encouragement, hope, and joy. The gift of an instrument stretches beyond the economic, language, or cultural differences and echoes the hope that we have in Jesus.
We would love for you to partner with us in our mission to spread hope, inspiration, and joy through musical instruments. If you are interested in donating a musical instrument, or if you would like to give financially, please visit Instrumentsofjoy.com. More than anything else, we ask for prayers for our ministry, our outreach partners, and the recipients of these instruments. We are thankful for your continued support of Instruments of Joy.
