KYLE ROTHFIELD BENEFIT CONCERT
The success of this concert was because of the many people who donated time, musical talent, and money. The concert was made possible because of the people. Instruments of Joy is simply here to equip aspiring musicians in the developing world with quality musical instruments. We are able to do this because of the people who donate! This concert is a prime example of what can happen when we get together in effort to not only enjoy some good music, but give to musicians all over the world that do not have a voice of their own to ask for an instrument.
We have given away 74 instruments in 23 different countries. Our goal is to give away a total of at least 100 by the end of 2014. That being said, we are always looking for not only financial donations, but instrumental. We are also looking for people who are going places to deliver instruments. Please contact me if you can help with any of those three focal points.
Mike Arnold and the Music City Rockers opened the show and did an incredible job at covering some of your favorite 80’s music and a couple originals. They know how to get the party started! Crawford White, member of this band and on the Baord for IOJ, has done so much for Instruments of Joy. He has given and/or repaired over 12 instruments for us. He has helped me connect with many contacts in the Nashville area that are contributing to our mission.
Kyle Rothfield and her band closed the night with nominal talent. Kylie has a beautiful and unique voice. She has a heart to help people. Not only did Kylie perform at the concert, but she also gave her first bass guitar to Instruments of Joy. That is a special gift on so many layers. Giving an instrument to IOJ is not only a financial sacrifice, but sentimental as well.
The Benefit Concert was beneficial, fun, and fruitful. My goal is to have two of these a month. Every week I am meeting with artists and bands who are interested in partnering with IOJ. We have a show set for August 9th at The Well Coffee House with Forrest Hill and David Evans. We have seven bands/artists who have agreed to partner and we are in the midst of date/venue scheduling.
I am so excited about what has happened, what is happening, and especially what will happen through Instruments of Joy. All of this excitement is because of those of you who give your time, talent, and resources. Because of you, we are able to give quality instruments to musicians all around the world.
Thank you.
