The summer of 2021, Experience Community Church held an incredible instrument drive to support musicians in need. Through the month of August people from their church donated gently used instruments and financial gifts to equip aspiring musicians around the world. They collected over thirty musical instruments!
The Inspiring Impact
One of these instruments went to Isanga Denis Joel, an aspiring musician living in the developing world. Isanga is an 18-year-old musician who grew up on the streets of Uganda. As an adult, he leads worship and a weekly bible study for his community. Because of the support and generosity of Experience Community Church, Isanga now has a Djembe Drum. With it, he plans to hone his artistic ability and bring joy to his community through music!
An Exciting Opportunity
We are continually inspired by incredible people like Isanga here and around the world. Isanga used his experiences and resources to meaningfully invest in his community, but equally inspiring was the community that invested in him. Last year, Experience Community Church and other churches in Tennessee donated over 40 musical instruments to under-resourced musicians through instrument drives. Their gifts of time, energy, and instruments created an incredible blessing for musicians and communities worldwide!
As we look forward to the year 2022, Instruments of Joy is excited to instigate many more instrument drives, and we would love your help! Instrument drives are a simple three step process with exponential eternal value. Instruments of Joy provides all the tools and resources, and every donor gets back the photo and story of the musician they have blessed. Would you consider asking your local church or non-profit to host an instrument drive or initiating one yourself?
